Frequently Asked Questions

Find detailed answers about our mobile SMART repair service, workshop-based private accident repair, bookings, estimates, turnaround times and what to expect from start to finish. We have put the most common questions in one place so the process feels clear, simple and stress-free.

What areas do you cover?
We provide mobile SMART repairs across the West Midlands and surrounding areas. For larger or more involved damage, private accident repairs are carried out at our workshop in Brierley Hill DY5 by appointment only. If you are unsure whether your location falls within our coverage area, contact us and we will confirm availability.
Do you need electricity or a garage?
For mobile repairs, yes — access to electricity is required and there must be sufficient safe working space around the vehicle. A garage is not usually required. Workshop repairs are completed at our Brierley Hill DY5 workshop by appointment only.
How do I know whether my repair will be mobile or workshop-based?
Once we review photos of the damage, we will advise whether the repair is suitable for mobile SMART repair or better handled at our workshop. Minor cosmetic damage is often suitable for mobile work, while larger or more complex repairs are usually completed at our workshop.
How long do repairs usually take?
Yes — our service is designed to be carried out at your home or workplace for maximum convenience. The vehicle must be parked in a suitable location with safe access, adequate working space, and access to electricity.
Will the repair be visible?
Our aim is to achieve a high-quality, near-invisible finish using professional SMART repair techniques. In the vast majority of cases, repairs blend seamlessly with the surrounding area.

However, results can vary depending on factors such as the location and severity of the damage, paint type, colour, panel condition and vehicle age. We will always provide an honest assessment beforehand and advise if any limitations are expected.
How do I get a quote?
You can request a free, no-obligation quote by completing our online quote form. Providing clear photos of the damage allows us to assess the repair accurately and respond quickly with a transparent quotation. If further inspection is required, we will let you know before proceeding.

Lease & PCP Return Questions

Are SMART repairs suitable for lease or PCP returns?
Yes — SMART repairs are widely used to address minor cosmetic damage prior to lease or PCP return. They are designed to improve appearance and can reduce the risk of end-of-contract charges for damage such as scuffs, scratches, bumper marks and kerbed alloy wheels.

While acceptance criteria vary between finance providers, we regularly complete repairs to a standard that meets or exceeds typical fair wear and tear expectations.
Can you advise if a repair is worthwhile before a lease inspection?
Absolutely. If you are approaching a lease or PCP return, we can review photos of the damage and provide honest advice on whether a repair is likely to be cost-effective compared to potential end-of-contract charges. Our goal is to help you make an informed decision — not to recommend unnecessary work.

Insurance & Private Repair Options

Do you deal with insurance work?
We primarily carry out private SMART repairs. In many cases, customers choose to fund cosmetic repairs privately rather than making an insurance claim, particularly where the damage is minor.
Can repairs be carried out at my home, workplace or at your workshop?
This depends on the extent of the damage and your individual circumstances. For minor cosmetic damage, paying privately can often be quicker and more cost-effective, and may help avoid potential impacts on no-claims discounts or future premiums.

We are always happy to offer impartial advice to help you decide the best option.

Technical Repair Details

What repair techniques do you use?
We use professional SMART repair techniques including localised paint blending, colour-matched refinishing and controlled curing methods. This allows us to repair specific damaged areas without the need for full panel resprays in many cases, while still achieving an excellent cosmetic finish.
How is colour matched?
Paint is matched using manufacturer colour codes and refined by eye where necessary to ensure the closest possible blend with the existing finish. This takes into account factors such as age, environmental exposure and natural paint fade.
Are repairs lacquered and protected?
Yes — repairs are finished with professional-grade clear coat (lacquer) and cured appropriately. This provides durability, gloss retention and protection consistent with a high-quality cosmetic SMART repair.

*Before and after results may vary depending on the type, severity, and location of damage, vehicle condition, and paint finish. SMART repairs are cosmetic in nature and are designed to significantly improve appearance rather than replicate full panel replacement or respray.
